I don't know anything about building apps but is there any way you could have some sorta "pause" feature so when we're not in immediate need of the app mainly the map we can hit a button and it will stop all usage of the app that is a battery drain?

Like, for example, when i enter into a city, especially if i know it well - i'm not in need of the app and it's just sitting there draining my battery.
